  • Knowledge and experience of access control systems.
  • A full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle, due to multiple site locations.
  • The ability to travel to site within 45 minutes.
  • The legal right to work in the UK, supported by a minimum of five years’ verifiable employment history (enhanced screening required).
  • Strong communication skills, a customer‑first approach, and excellent attention to detail.
  • A proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness and capability to cover both static sites and retail park environments.

  • Carry out regular internal and external foot patrols, manage access control, and remain vigilant for any suspicious activity.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service by offering guidance and support while maintaining a secure environment.
  • Respond confidently and appropriately to challenging situations, taking control until additional or external assistance arrives.
  • Uphold all health and safety standards, accurately recording and promptly reporting any hazards or concerns.

The Role:

This is an interesting and varied role, offering a diverse work pattern that includes assignments across industrial sites as well as front‑of‑house office environments. You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

Protection of Property and Premises

  • Carry out internal and external security patrols in line with the Assignment Instructions.
  • Control traffic flow and enforce parking restrictions where necessary.
  • Perform routine checks and testing of security equipment as appropriate.
  • Manage keys and undertake locking and unlocking duties in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.

  • Handle lost property in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.

Health and Safety

  • Provide support, guidance, and information to staff, visitors, and contractors while ensuring the continued safeguarding of the premises.
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times, and promptly record and report faults, hazards, and unsafe working practices.

The responsibilities listed here aren’t the full picture—if you meet the minimum requirements and believe you’ve got what it takes to succeed, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Possess a full UK driving licence with access to own transport (highly desirable).
  • Be fully flexible to work days, nights, and weekends, including short‑notice cover when required.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK, supported by a minimum of five years’ checkable employment history, or appropriate documentary evidence covering any periods of unemployment, self‑employment, or full‑time/part‑time education.
  • Be aged 18 or over.
  • Have no current criminal convictions.
  • Demonstrate excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Show a strong customer‑focused approach with high attention to detail.
  • Be punctual, reliable, and dependable.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Embody and uphold Securitas’ core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness.
