Responsibilities
To deliver a professional security service that protects people, property, and assets, the Security Officer must follow all Assignment Instructions and uphold Securitas’ core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness. A Security Officer is expected to maintain high standards of conduct and reliability at all times, ensuring the safety of the site and those within it. An SIA Licence is required for the Security Officer to carry out these duties effectively.
You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. This role focuses on protecting property and premises by preventing unauthorised access, monitoring alarms and CCTV, conducting patrols, managing key control, and keeping accurate records. The Security Officer supports health and safety by following procedures, reporting hazards, and maintaining emergency readiness, including notifying the Security Operations Centre when needed. Key duties include preventing loss and crime, monitoring suspicious activity, securing equipment, and using communication devices effectively. Strong customer service and professional standards are essential. The Security Officer must also ensure compliance with regulations, support evacuations and searches, remain vigilant, report incidents, prevent disruption, complete shift handovers, and carry out regular safety and security patrols, providing excellent customer focus to staff, visitors, and contractors.

Qualifications
- Valid or working towards a SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision), CCTV Operator Licence (Public Space Surveillance).
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Eligible to work in the UK and 18+ years old, five-year checkable work history (or evidence of gaps) with no criminal convictions.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willing to work Nights
- Previous security industry experience, ideally in a retail or public‑facing role.
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport.
