Overview
Security Officer position at Securitas, Cambridge. 45 hours per week. From day one, you’ll gain access to Learning and Development opportunities, mentorship, and a range of benefits from brand discounts to give-back schemes.
Responsibilities
- Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate.
- Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
- Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate.
- Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
- Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
- Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
- Provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst safeguarding the premises.
- Gatehouse duties, including managing site access and ensuring all entry and exit procedures are followed.
- ID verification checks to confirm authorised personnel and maintain site security standards.
Qualifications
- A valid SIA licence.
- Punctual and reliable.
- The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history.
- British nationality and UK residency for the past 5 years (due to site requirements).
- Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken.
