Overview

We’re Hiring: Security Maritime Officer! Location: Holyhead. Pay: £12.55 per hour. Hours: 38.5 hours per week. From day one, you’ll gain access to outstanding Learning and Development opportunities, Mentorship, and a range of benefits.

As a Security Maritime Officer at Securitas, you’ll do more than protect what’s important—you’ll empower people to thrive. You’ll be an essential part of something bigger, patrolling key areas, managing gatehouse duties, or being the friendly face clients rely on, working on behalf of one of the world’s leading aerospace and defence organisations. Every shift is a new chance to learn, grow, and make a difference.

Collaborating with Stena Line, UK Border Agency, SB Police and other partner agencies to ensure port security and prevent criminal activity, while adhering to Department for Transport (DfT) compliance standards to mitigate risks across all UK ports.

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

  • Presenting a visible security presence at the premises, staying alert to reduce disruption, loss or damage
  • Responding to and assisting Port Management and National Agencies in emergency situations
  • Meeting and greeting visitors and staff, maintaining a helpful, courteous approach
  • Access and egress control
  • Body searching of passengers and their baggage
  • Searching of cars, light vans, coaches and freight vehicles
  • Foot and mobile security patrols

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • A valid SIA licence
  • Driving licence
  • 3+ years security experience
  • The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history
  • Can do attitude
  • Honest and approachable
  • Works well on their own but also as a team
  • Works well under pressure
  • Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken
