Job Description

We are looking for a Recovery Worker to support the development of our service in Oban, Lorn and across the Small Isles. Ideally you will be able to travel across the area, as well as offering support from our base in Oban.

As a Recovery Worker you will be comfortable supporting people affected by substance use issues, and their families, to make change using evidence-based approaches. You will work with a range of local partners to ensure people can access support to improve their health and wellbeing. You will be confident using a range of approaches to offer support, including remote ways of working, such as phone and virtual appointments.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to individuals and families. You’ll be a vital part of a compassionate, frontline team dedicated to reducing harm and promoting positive change for individuals impacted by drug and alcohol use. Our support is for those aged 18 and over and we work alongside NHS and third-sector partners.

Our wider team covers all of Argyll and Bute through an outreach delivery model. You will manage a caseload of individuals and family members. While you’ll work with independence, you’re never alone - you will be backed by a solid team, with guidance from management and training and development. Our service is highly regarded by those we support, with client feedback consistently highlighting the quality of care and the values-driven dedication of our staff

An SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare is preferred for this position; however, we will consider candidates with relevant experience and a strong willingness to obtain it. A driving license and access to a vehicle is an essential requirement for this role.

This role is permanent and part time, working 22.5 hours per week. We offer a starting salary of £26,250 per annum pro rata, rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,900 per annum pro rato.

Is this role for you?

Your Values: You believe in keeping people safe and supporting their recovery journey. You are non-judgmental, positive, and dedicated to helping others achieve their personal goals.

Your Skills: You are a great communicator who builds trust easily. You understand how substance use affects a person's whole life, and you can stay calm and focused in difficult situations. You are organized, flexible, and eager to learn.

Requirements: You are confident using computers and digital systems. A driving license and access to a car an essential requirement for this position. An SVQ Level 3 is preferred, but we welcome applicants with relevant experience who are willing to work toward this qualification.

Lived Experience: At WithYou, we value the unique perspective and hope that those with personal experience of recovery bring to our team. We strongly encourage "experts by experience" to apply.
