Job Description
At Insignia Healthcare Group, we are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and engaging Support Worker to join the care team of an amazing 27-year-old woman living with her family in Haveringland, Norfolk. She is bubbly, fun, outgoing and determined to get the most out of life — and she is looking for someone who can match her enthusiasm!
Could you be the right match?
She loves socialising, getting out and about, dancing, singing, arts and crafts, exercising, having her nails done and spending time with her pet cat, Sparkle. This is an active and highly person-centred role, so we are looking for someone who is happy to get involved, join in with the activities she enjoys and support her to live the life she chooses.
You’ll need to be someone who is:
- Energetic and enthusiastic – able to keep up with her busy lifestyle
- Fun, engaging and positive – someone who enjoys getting involved rather than standing on the sidelines
- Patient and understanding – able to provide reassurance and support when things don’t go to plan
- Adaptable and reliable – comfortable working within an established routine while supporting her through changes
- A clear communicator – able to speak clearly, check understanding and support communication, including the use of Makaton
- Physically able to meet the genuine demands of an active support role ‑including participating in activities, accessing the community and accompanying her on outings
This isn't a role for someone who wants to simply sit and observe — we're looking for someone who wants to get involved and genuinely make a difference.
The right connection matters
Finding the right person is incredibly important. Due to her individual needs, personality and the importance of building a positive and trusting relationship, she will be involved in getting to know and selecting members of her support team. We are therefore looking for someone who can build a genuine connection with her, engage with her interests and personality, and provide support in a way that helps her feel comfortable, understood and in control.
She has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, a moderate learning disability, Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD) and Cryptogenic Epilepsy. Routine and planning are important to her, and unexpected changes can cause anxiety, so you’ll need to be calm, supportive and able to help prepare her for changes wherever possible. She has previously displayed behaviours of concern, including behaviours that may present a risk to herself or others. These behaviours have significantly reduced and become more manageable since returning to the family home. Full training, guidance and support will be provided to ensure you have the skills and confidence to support her safely and effectively.
What you'll be doing
As part of her support team, you'll provide 1:1 support that promotes her safety, wellbeing, independence and choice. You'll support her with day-to-day life while also encouraging her to get out, have fun, pursue her interests and make the most of every opportunity.
Key Details:
- Shifts: 12-hour and 6-hour day shifts, Monday to Sunday
- Schedule: Weekday and alternate weekend working
- Contract: Part-time, Permanent
*There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be female, due to the nature of the personal care and support provided, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Support work is about so much more than making cups of tea and personal care. It’s about helping people live life to the fullest, achieve their goals and enjoy the things that matter most to them.
