Security Officer in Magor

Overview

Company Description: We’re hiring a Security Officer in Caldicot. Pay: £12.48 per hour. Hours: 42 hours, 4 on 4 off night shifts. From day one, you’ll gain access to learning and development opportunities, mentorship, and a range of benefits including big-brand discounts and give-back schemes.

Note: A valid SIA licence is required before starting operational shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety and security patrols
• Provide a security service at the working location in line with Assignment Instructions and customer requirements, protecting employees, property, and assets
• Uphold Securitas core values: Integrity, Vigilance, Helpfulness
• Protect property and premises by preventing unauthorized access, monitoring alarms and CCTV, conducting internal and external patrols
• Manage traffic control and parking restrictions; perform routine tests of security equipment; handle keys and locking/unlocking duties
• Maintain logbooks and records; issue visitor/contractor passes; manage lost property
• Provide guidance on health and safety; report hazards and accidents; ensure emergency escape routes are clear; report shortages in First Aid boxes; notify the Security Operations Centre in emergencies; respond to fire alarm activations
• Prevent loss and waste by reporting property at risk and by conserving energy during patrols
• Prevent and deter crime by operating radios, pagers, and other security equipment; implement stop-and-search policies; investigate and report incidents
• Deliver outstanding customer service; maintain a professional appearance and uniform; answer calls professionally
• Booking on and off shifts; complete necessary checks; ensure paperwork is completed timely; undertake other duties as requested by management
• Demonstrate understanding and engagement with Securitas core values throughout tasks

Qualifications

• SIA licence
• First Aid required
• Strong command of English (written and verbal); IT literate
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within security
• Right to work in the UK
• 5-year checkable work history
• Willingness to undertake company-provided courses; living within reasonable commuting distance; strong organisational skills; reliable and customer-focused with a commitment to exemplary service
