Please note, training for this role is completed abroad and there is a high possibility that you may be asked to travel abroad frequently to various locations to help reinforce other stations.

Job Description

We are seeking a Specialist Aviation Security Agent to join our team at London Heathrow Airport. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of passengers, staff, and aircraft within our bustling international aviation hub.

  • Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, luggage, and cargo using state-of-the-art equipment
  • Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security devices with precision and efficiency
  • Monitor CCTV systems to identify potential security threats or suspicious activities
  • Implement and enforce aviation security regulations and protocols
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to security incidents or emergencies
  • Collaborate with various airport departments and external agencies to maintain a secure environment
  • Perform passenger profiling and behavioural analysis to identify potential risks
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed incident reports as required
  • Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on the latest security procedures and technologies

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • A sharp eye for detail, with strong observational abilities
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to stay calm, focused, and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Good physical fitness, with the capability to stand for long periods and carry out manual handling when required
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Strong people skills, with the ability to engage professionally with passengers from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Solid understanding of threat assessment and passenger profiling techniques
  • Ability to travel to reinforce other stations abroad frequently

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in aviation security or a similar environment (working airside)
  • A high school qualification (or equivalent)

Additional Information

Successful candidates will be required to attend a mandatory 3.5-week training course held abroad (location to be confirmed at screening). This in-depth programme is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to operate as a Specialist Security Agent. All travel and accommodation will be provided, along with a daily allowance for the duration of your time away.

During training, the starting salary is Β£12.90 per hour, increasing to Β£14.59+ upon successful completion of the initial course. This is a salaried position.

The role requires a minimum of 163 hours per month, with additional overtime available where applicable.
