Alexander Court Care Home is looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to help maintain a safe, compliant and well‑presented care home environment for our residents, staff, visitors and families. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with strong practical maintenance skills, good organisation and a clear understanding of health and safety.
You will be responsible for day‑to‑day repairs, planned maintenance, compliance checks, contractor management and supporting the overall presentation of the home.
About the Role- Carry out general maintenance, repairs and minor works across the home.
- Complete routine compliance checks and maintain accurate records via the in‑house digital system.
- Support fire safety, water safety, emergency lighting, call bell, PAT testing and other estates checks.
- Respond to maintenance requests and prioritise work safely.
- Maintain bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, gardens and external areas to a good standard.
- Support vacant room turnaround works, including decoration and presentation.
- Liaise with contractors and check works are completed safely and properly.
- Use the home’s facilities system to record checks, repairs and follow‑up actions.
- Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents and families.
You should have:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a facilities, maintenance, estates or similar role ideally in a Care Home environment, or similar.
- Good practical skills across general repairs, basic plumbing, basic carpentry, decorating and building maintenance.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing maintenance priorities and working with contractors.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of the home environment.
