We are looking for a fully flexible Branch Relief Security Officer to support a variety of sites across South Wales. This role requires flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends, covering a range of assignments and locations as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the effective safeguarding of the client’s site, maintaining safety and security of employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Carry out regular internal and external foot patrols, manage access control, and remain vigilant for suspicious activity.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service while maintaining a secure environment.
- Respond confidently to challenging situations, taking control until assistance arrives.
- Uphold all health and safety standards, accurately recording and reporting hazards.
- Protect property and premises, preventing unauthorised access, monitoring alarms and CCTV.
- Control traffic flow and enforce parking restrictions where necessary.
- Perform routine checks and testing of security equipment.
- Manage keys and undertake locking and unlocking duties per instructions.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and records per assignment instructions.
- Issue visitor and contractor passes per site procedures.
- Handle lost property in accordance with the assignment instructions.
- Provide support and guidance to staff, visitors, and contractors on health and safety matters.
Qualifications
- Valid SIA Licence.
- Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle (highly desirable).
- Full flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, including short‑notice cover.
- Legal right to work in the UK, with a minimum of five years’ checkable employment history.
- Age 18 or over.
- No current criminal convictions.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Strong customer‑focused approach with high attention to detail.
- Punctual, reliable, dependable.
- Effective independently and as part of a team.

- Demonstrate sensitivity towards people with disabilities or additional needs.
- Desirable: Previous experience as a Security Officer and First Aid qualification.
