Join to apply for the Pre-sales Technical Engineer role at SecureFlag. SecureFlag is a fast-growing London-based startup with a mission to improve application security training for developers. We have created an innovative platform for developers to learn, practice, and internalize modern secure coding practices through real-world exercises. Our objective is to offer highly immersive, intuitive training so attuned to the developer’s individual needs that the overall experience is genuinely natural and enjoyable and, as a result, directly helpful and immediately applicable to their everyday job.
We’re looking for a dynamic, technically-minded individual with a passion for information security and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences. This role blends pre-sales engagement, technical demonstrations, customer interaction, and hands-on involvement in secure coding initiatives. You’ll need to be comfortable with secure coding concepts and enthusiastic about deepening your expertise while actively engaging with developer communities. This role requires frequent travel to attend industry events, presentations, and on-site activities. We support remote working in the UK and European Union with flexible working hours.
What you’ll do:
- Deliver product demonstrations to prospective and existing customers, showcasing how our solutions support secure development practices and address real-world security challenges.
- Travel to customer sites and events to represent the company, set up and host secure coding tournaments, and build in-person rapport with developer communities.
- Host and present engaging webinars and virtual events for developers and security professionals, focusing on secure coding practices and cybersecurity awareness.
- Organize secure coding tournaments (both virtual and on-site), helping customers maximize participation and learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Customer Success teams to tailor event content and ensure a high-quality participant experience.
- Stay informed and continuously learn about key cybersecurity concepts, tools, and trends: you’ll be supported by our team, but a natural curiosity and drive to experiment are essential.
- Gather feedback and insights from events and customer interactions to help improve future sessions and inform product improvements.
- Collaborate with Content and Engineering teams to help quality review efforts (reviewing labs, validating learning paths, and product functionalities) while gaining first-hand experience with how our platform operates.
What you’ll bring:
- 3+ years of experience as a technical sales engineer, development, information security, or related technical job.
- Experience in customer or stakeholder-facing roles, such as delivering technical demos, tech consulting, or pre-sales engineering.
- Past community involvement, like presenting at conferences, contributing to open source, or helping drive secure coding initiatives.
- Big plus if you’ve built an online presence around security, whether through technical blogs, podcasts, or an active social media profile that spreads technical concepts know-how.
- We’d love it if you’ve shared your knowledge on stage or with peers through workshops, talks, or training sessions that helped others get excited about technical solutions.
- Excellent English communication skills: able to distill complex topics and align cross-functional teams.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver with limited supervision.
