Role Description The Fire and Security Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Belfast. This role involves installing, commissioning, maintaining, and repairing fire detection systems, alarm systems, and security solutions at customer sites. The technician will perform routine inspections and testing to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, documenting findings and completing service reports. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting system faults, supporting network-connected security equipment, and collaborating with colleagues to deliver reliable, safe installations. The technician will also provide clear guidance to customers on system operation and elevate complex technical or safety issues when required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues, including strong Troubleshooting skills and experience working with Alarm Systems.
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity and Network Security principles relevant to modern fire and security systems.
  • Understanding of Occupational Health and safety regulations, with a commitment to safe working practices on-site.
  • Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in fire, security, electrical, or electronic engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience installing and maintaining fire detection, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems is highly beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail, accurate record-keeping, and ability to follow industry standards and company procedures.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a field-based team.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites within Belfast and surrounding areas.
