Join us at Secure Trust Bank Group and help shape the future of responsible lending. We’re looking for an Associate Strategy Designer to support in maintaining and developing credit‑policy‑aligned initiatives that keep our customers and our business safe, while enabling sustainable growth. If you’re passionate about data-driven decision‑making and thrive in a collaborative environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Why This Role Matters
Our Credit Risk team defines the Bank’s risk appetite, sets policies for customer acceptance, and ensures lending portfolios perform within tolerance. Beyond monitoring arrears, we provide strategic oversight, regulatory compliance, and portfolio analysis to safeguard sustainable growth. As an Associate Strategy Designer, you’ll support the Lead by peer‑reviewing design work and carrying out testing activities as required to help ensure quality and consistency across decisioning solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist the Lead Strategy Designer in developing and maintaining credit strategies, scorecards, and policy rules within the Decisioning Platform (DP), assisting with controlled and compliant change management by following established processes and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Support the Lead with governance, documentation, and coordination activities, including preparing materials, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with the progression of credit strategy changes through UAT and into Production.
- Contribute to testing and analytical activities by preparing and executing test cases, documenting results, and helping to set up and monitor Champion/Challenger scenarios to ensure high‑quality decisioning processes.
- Assist the Lead in managing external and internal relationships, including Credit Reference Agencies and other partners, and help coordinate small‑scale implementations and project tasks as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Some experience with Decisioning Platforms or similar analytical systems, with the ability to interpret business requirements and contribute to technical solution design using analytical tools and basic coding skills (e.g., LUA, Python), or a willingness to develop these.
- Exposure to strategy deployment and structured testing activities, including supporting user acceptance testing and assisting with controlled, well‑documented change processes under the guidance of the Lead.
- Foundational experience in Credit Risk or financial services, supported by strong analytical and numerate skills, and an understanding of key financial concepts relevant to retail banking.
- Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively, explain technical points simply, and contribute positively to team discussions; familiarity with tools such as SAS, SQL, Excel, or Python is desirable.
