What you’ll be doing
- Support Senior Finance Managers in delivering a high‑quality finance service to the Group
- Perform robust product accounting activities to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Group’s general ledger and financial and regulatory reporting
- Prepare, post and review daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual journal entries for core products including Retail Finance, Commercial Finance and Real Estate Finance
- Ensure timely and accurate month‑end close, including P&L and Balance Sheet reporting, in line with internal and external reporting deadlines
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations using Group certification software (Blackline), ensuring compliance with agreed timetables
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation issues, collaborating with relevant business, finance and functional stakeholders
- Produce regular and ad‑hoc financial analysis to provide deeper insights into core ledger data
- Support the preparation of interim and annual financial statements, including responding to auditor queries in line with agreed plans
- Build and maintain effective working relationships across Finance and wider business teams within the Group
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including process enhancements, automation and project support
- Ensure all accounting processes are fully documented and reviewed annually, or when changes occur
What we’re looking for
- Part qualified ACCA / ACA / CIMA – Desirable
- Experience of operating in Financial Control environment
- Ability to carry out intermediate to complex reconciliations.
- Proven communication and relationship building skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel & Word and experience using finance systems e.g., General Ledger.
- Good problem solving and judgement.
- Proactive in contributing to continuous improvements in the business area and the wider Finance Function.
- Financial Services Experience preferred.
