Core Responsibilities
- Access Control and Entry Management
- Manage entry and exit points during busy periods
- Ensure only authorised visitors enter restricted studio or staff areas
- Prevent overcrowding in entrances, corridors, and stairwells
- Maintain controlled but welcoming visitor flow
- Visitor Safety and Safeguarding
- Enforce safeguarding rules, including supervision of children at all times
- Identify and respond to lost children or vulnerable individuals
- De-scale disputes, unsafe behaviour, or disruption
- Maintain a visible but calm security presence
- Protection of Property and Artwork
- Monitor studios and shared areas to reduce risk of theft or damage
- Prevent visitors from touching artwork unless permitted
- Support artists in protecting their workspaces during public access
- Ensure high-value or fragile pieces are not exposed to unnecessary risk
- Crowd Management
- Manage queues for workshops, talks, and demonstrations
- Prevent congestion in stairwells, corridors, and studio entrances
