The energy transition is a chance to change everything—for the better. It delivers cheaper electricity, creates new jobs, reduces pollution, and brings power to communities long left behind. But despite its overwhelming benefits, the transition away from fossil fuels remains slow—and vulnerable to disinformation and delay.

The Secure Energy Project (SEP) exists to speed up and safeguard the clean energy transition. We identify strategic barriers and build creative, collaborative campaigns to overcome them. We bring together diverse allies—from the grassroots to the global stage—to shift the narrative and the politics around energy.

Now entering our third year, SEP is leading global communications efforts, coordinating campaign coalitions, and launching audience-led interventions in key countries. We’re helping the climate movement fight smarter, faster, and together.

Now entering our third year, SEP is leading global communications efforts, coordinating campaign coalitions, and launching audience-led interventions in key countries. We’re helping the climate movement fight smarter, faster, and together.

About the Role

The Campaign Networks Director will lead the coordination and delivery of SEP’s campaign collaboration projects, with a focus on our global communications networks to end fossil fuels and manifest our clean energy future. You’ll work closely with partner organizations, vendors, and SEP’s leadership team to move big, complex efforts from idea to execution.

This role is about making collaboration work—ensuring that diverse actors can come together around shared goals, timelines, and deliverables to create real-world impact. You’ll be the one who holds the threads: tracking progress, facilitating communication, and ensuring campaign coalitions stay focused and aligned.

Key Responsibilities

Coalition Campaign Management

  • Drive the planning and delivery of campaign collaboration projects across SEP’s global communications network.
  • Manage timelines, milestones, and responsibilities for national campaign pilots and global initiatives.
  • Coordinate across multiple partners, ensuring clarity on roles, expectations, and shared deliverables.

Partner & Network Facilitation

  • Organize and facilitate coalition meetings, working groups, and check-ins—ensuring that communication flows and decisions get made.
  • Help the coalition be efficient and make good decisions
  • Build strong working relationships across the network, helping surface challenges, resolve blockers, and maintain alignment.

Strategic Communications

  • With support from the Communications Director, you will design and implement global and country-level communications strategies to advance the renewable energy transition.
  • Develop and evolve SEP’s narrative framework in coordination with partners and allies.
  • Lead on crafting messaging, story angles, and communications tactics to build support for renewables and counter fossil fuel narratives.

Campaign Delivery Support

  • Track the production of campaign materials, media interventions, and communications assets in partnership with vendors and partner teams.
  • Ensure campaign components (e.g. messaging, media outreach, content calendars) are integrated across coalition efforts.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Document progress, learnings, and results from campaign projects to inform internal reviews and external reporting.
  • Support SEP leadership with timely project updates and partner feedback loops.

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of experience in project or campaign management—ideally in advocacy, communications, or coalition-based work.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects across time zones and cultures.
  • Strong facilitation and coordination skills—you keep things moving and people engaged.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to synthesize information and convey it clearly.
  • Experience working with or within international networks or civil society coalitions.
  • Comfortable with remote collaboration tools (e.g. Zoom, Slack, Google Suite, project trackers like Asana or Notion).
  • Deep commitment to climate justice, equity, and supporting Global South leadership.
  • Bonus: experience the global climate movement, especially in the global south, as well as in campaign strategy, narrative development, or managing creative production workflows.

What We Offer

  • A chance to shape high-impact campaigns that accelerate the global energy transition.
  • A collaborative, flexible, and values-driven remote team.
  • The opportunity to work across borders with leading change-makers in climate and energy.
  • Competitive monthly compensation based on location and experience.
