If you are looking for a new rewarding role in Mental Health Care, we have got the job for you! Working in Health Care can be incredibly fulfilling as it allows you to make a positive impact on people at their most vulnerable time. We are looking for experienced, caring and committed Mental Health Transport Assistants with an engaging approach who are keen to enhance their skills within the Mental Health sector. Whilst previous experience is beneficial, it is not a requirement as full bespoke accredited training will be provided by our dedicated team of experienced trainers.

You will need to be a passionate, empathetic and a highly motivated individual who thrives working in a close-knit team to deliver exceptional quality care to our patients. We pride ourselves on building positive professional relationships with our patients and making a true difference at their time of need. If this is true to your values, then we would like to hear from you!

This is not just a driving job; it is about taking the patient on a journey from one setting to another with safety, care, respect, consideration and empathy to make that transition as smooth as it possibly can be. There may be times when trained techniques need to be used for the patient's safety, either in a place of safety, a vehicle or other settings. The job satisfaction comes from knowing that you have played an integral part in their time of crisis.

Who Are We?

Our journey began in 2012. We specialised in the delivery of secure patient transport and are continuing to grow. We are passionate about our PROUD core values: Patient First, Respect, Openness, Unity and Determination. We work in partnership with NHS trusts, private settings and work within the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN). We are really proud to be the first, and as yet, only Secure Patient Transport company in the UK to achieve this high standard of RRN training and care we provide.

In November 2023 we celebrated 10 years in business as a niche secure transport provider highlighting our growth from one base in Sussex to covering the majority of the UK (including some international transfers) along with celebrating the positive impact of our teams and the great service that they provide, 365 days of the year.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: SCUK is committed to building a culture of inclusivity where everyone within the business feels welcomed, respected and valued as an individual and what we all bring to the business. We all have a responsibility to behave inclusively to fellow colleagues as well as patients, clients, visitors and members of the public in all their activities and to act as ambassadors for inclusion.

Background & Experience:

  • Valid Full UK Manual Driving License with minimum 12 months driving experience
  • Excellent communication skills, including IT ability
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure whilst delivering genuine care
  • Demonstrate resilience
  • Able to work as part of a team effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail

We are aware of and give due attention to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and will always review the circumstances and age of any past convictions when we consider making a job offer.

  • Support and Mentoring: To grow your skills and experience in the Mental Health field. We also offer diplomas and progression opportunities through the company to allow you to build a career you can be proud of.
  • Continual Professional Development (CPD): We actively encourage and nurture personal development, providing accredited qualifications (NVQ Diplomas) and access to training in specialist subjects within Mental Health.
