Securafit is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Finance Officer to join our busy and thriving head office operations, based in Swanley. The role will be based onsite a minimum of 3 days. This is a key role where you will be accountable for all transactional finance up to management accounts, proactively working with financial insights and data to support the SLT in making informed decisions about the business.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable background within transactional finance and have worked previously with similar sized organisations. This role is progressive and the successful individual will have autonomy to develop, implement and evolve the role. You will be working in a busy office environment.
Responsibilities
- Sales Ledger
- Maintaining customer records
- Posting monies received from customers daily and ensuring accurate allocations
- Dealing with customer queries via telephone and email
- Sending out monthly statements
- Purchase Ledger
- Ensuring data entering the system is accurate, coded correctly, and compliant
- Maintaining accurate supplier records
- Posting stock and overhead invoices onto the system in a timely manner
- Processing and reconciling weekly costs
- Credit Control
- Producing customer statements and performing reconciliations
- Performing Credit Control activities in line with company procedures including phone first approach
- Monitoring aged debt reports and utilising credit reporting tools
- Investigating and resolving customer queries and disputed items making customer contact over the phone in line with company procedures
- Month End Processes
- Ensuring that purchase ledger is completed and closed within a reasonable timeframe after month end
- Running month end reports, creditors and debtors, with comments
- Supporting cash flow forecast in a timely manner
- Sales/Forecasting
- Working closely with the sales and operations team to support accurate and timely forecasting
- Identifying any potential missed revenue opportunities
- Highlighting opportunity to enhance best practice
Skills and Experience Required
- Confident self-starter with a collaborative approach
- Proven track record within an organisation of a similar size
- Experience of improving processes, implementing and updating systems
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years Accounts experience
- AAT Level 2/3 Certificate in Accounting or equivalent qualification would be advantageous
- Full UK Drivers License
