Job Description

Sectra Limited (CO UK) operates within the group management systems maintained by Headquarters. The Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that CO UK adheres to those management systems and follows the policies and processes set out within them, with primary focus on the Quality Management System certified to ISO 9001.

The role represents CO UK in operational excellence forums alongside Quality Managers from Headquarters and other Country Organisations, raising local issues and cascading group requirements into the UK business. It owns local compliance documentation, coordinates local audit and management review activity, manages assigned corrective actions, and maintains the UK’s supplier evaluation and online assessment obligations.

In addition, the role leads the implementation of an environmental management system and certification to ISO 14001 for CO UK.

Key Responsibilities

Group Management Systems and Operational Excellence

  • Ensure CO UK adheres to the group Quality Management System and follows the policies and processes contained within it.
  • Represent CO UK at operational excellence meetings with Quality Managers from Headquarters and other Country Organisations, raising local issues and feeding group requirements back into the UK business.
  • Act as the local point of contact with Headquarters in relation to the group ISO 9001 (Quality) certification, for which CO UK is in scope.
  • Maintain an awareness of the group ISO 27001 (Information Security) certification and support related activity where required. Local compliance with ISO 27001 is led by the UK Information Security Lead.
  • Manage relevant Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) assigned to CO UK, tracking each through to verified closure.
  • Prepare documentation for CO UK Management Review Meetings in line with Headquarters templates, and support the running of those meetings.

Audit Support

  • Support Headquarters in the planning and delivery of relevant internal audits, including identifying the relevant CO UK stakeholders and coordinating their participation.
  • Issue communications ahead of audit activity to ensure local processes and documentation are current and audit ready.
  • Support external audit activity as required, including evidence collation and audit readiness checks.

Local Documentation and Policies

  • Maintain CO UK Department Specification and applicable local process documentation, keeping them current and audit ready.
  • Ensure local documentation is reviewed and approved as required, including the Labour Standards Assurance System (LSAS) policy and the Modern Slavery Policy.
  • Maintain local commitments and supporting documentation including net zero and the carbon reduction plan.
  • Maintain the Corporate Resolution Plan and Service Continuity Plan with support from the relevant stakeholders.

Assessments, Suppliers and Assurance

  • Maintain UK online assessments, including the Evergreen Assessment and the Modern Slavery Assessment.
  • Undertake evaluation and assurance of UK suppliers.
  • Assist with the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and Digital Technology Assessment Criteria (DTAC) submissions where applicable, working with Information Security who lead this activity.
  • Track, report and support the delivery of contractual social value commitments.
  • Monitor emerging legislation and regulatory requirements relevant to CO UK, assess the impact and escalate or action as appropriate.

Environmental Management – ISO 14001

  • Lead the implementation of an environmental management system for CO UK and achieve certification to ISO 14001 within the agreed timescale.
