Working pattern: Office-based

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join a growing and award-winning business operating within the broadcast, television and post-production industry. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for the day-to-day finance function, working closely with the Company Directors and external accountants. You'll have genuine ownership of the bookkeeping function and the opportunity to make a real contribution within an established but growing business.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Processing sales and purchase invoices, expenses and credit card transactions
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, including credit control
  • Bank payments, reconciliations and posting journals
  • Managing accruals, prepayments and payroll journals
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Producing cash flow forecasts and annual budgets
  • Supporting quarterly management/OPEX reporting
  • Preparing year-end accounts information for external accountants
  • Resolving finance queries from clients, suppliers and colleagues
  • Supporting Companies House, pension and other financial administration
  • Depending on experience, preparing P&L statements and management information

About you

We're looking for a confident and highly organised finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and getting things right. You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Bookkeeper, Senior Bookkeeper, Accounts Assistant or similar
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping processes and VAT
  • Experience using QuickBooks or a similar cloud accounting system
  • Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • The ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • A professional and personable approach when dealing with clients, suppliers and colleagues

An accounting qualification or relevant equivalent experience would be advantageous. Experience within broadcast, television, post-production or outside broadcast is desirable but not essential.
