We are working with a market leading independent accountancy firm that is looking for an experienced Audit Senior to join its growing team. The Role

You will take responsibility for managing audit assignments from planning through to completion, working closely with managers and directors to deliver high-quality work. The role offers excellent variety, with a client portfolio ranging from entrepreneurial owner-managed businesses to larger groups and subsidiaries. You will also have the opportunity to gain experience across areas including group audits, M&A, restructuring, accounts and advisory work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute and complete audits across a diverse client portfolio
  • Lead audit teams on site and provide support, guidance and mentoring to junior colleagues
  • Manage audit budgets, deadlines and delivery to ensure assignments are completed efficiently
  • Take ownership of complex and higher-risk audit areas
  • Review audit files for completeness and quality before managerial or director review
  • Develop strong, trusted relationships with clients
  • Communicate confidently with clients and provide commercially focused insights
  • Work collaboratively with accounts, tax and advisory teams to provide a joined-up service
  • Support the development and training of junior members of the audit team

About You

We are looking for someone who has a strong audit background and is ready to take the next step in their career. You will ideally have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification, or be close to completing your qualification
  • Proven experience leading audits from planning through to completion
  • Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102 and ISAs
  • Experience managing and mentoring junior team members
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
