Are you an experienced technical operations professional with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service amongst a team of engineers? We are looking for a dynamic leader to take ownership of the end-to-end installation, deployment and maintenance of an innovative product portfolio serving international customers. This is a highly visible role, responsible for ensuring successful project delivery, leading technical teams, managing customer relationships and driving operational excellence across multiple markets.
About the role as Head Of Operations
Working closely with project management, engineering, sales, procurement and operations teams, you will oversee the planning, implementation and ongoing support of customer deployments. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The position offers a flexible base location with regular travel across the UK, Europe and internationally.
You Will:
- Lead the successful installation, commissioning and maintenance of technical equipment and systems.
- Manage project delivery from planning through to completion, ensuring commercial viability and target margins are achieved.
- Oversee resource planning, deployment of engineers and maintenance scheduling.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing updates, resolving issues and building long-term relationships.
- Develop and maintain training frameworks to support customer onboarding and product adoption.
- Work collaboratively with sales teams to identify growth opportunities and strengthen customer partnerships.
- Set, manage and monitor project budgets, revenue forecasts and expenditure.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure all operational processes are documented and compliant with recognised quality standards, including ISO9001.
- Support the expansion of operational infrastructure and third-party logistics capabilities across international markets.
About You
You are a commercially aware leader who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent customer relationship management skills. You are confident managing multiple projects, motivating teams and making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience managing technical installation, service or maintenance operations.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, P&L management and cost control.
- Experience in project management and delivery within complex operational environments.
- Demonstrated success managing customer accounts and commercial agreements.
- Experience working across international markets, particularly Europe and North America.
- Strong understanding of contract management and negotiation.
- Excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience within chemicals, detergents, hygiene, janitorial or related sectors.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and ISO standards.
