Salary: Up to £60,000 + Quarterly Bonus Scheme

Full-time | Permanent | Site-based

The Opportunity

Sectora Group is partnering with an established, highly successful and rapidly growing business operating within the specialist technical services and equipment sector.

Having doubled in size in recent years, the business is on an ambitious growth journey, with projected revenues of £15 million in 2026 and plans to reach £30 million by 2030.

We are looking for an experienced, hands‑on Operations Manager to take ownership of a key operational site in Dorset.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you'll oversee approximately 35 people across multiple operational functions, including Hire, Service, Training, Purchasing and Administration, with four direct reports.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine impact within a growing business. The foundations are in place, but there is significant scope to improve processes, strengthen accountability and develop a high‑performing operation capable of supporting continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, support and develop departmental managers and their teams, creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership of day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring departments work efficiently and collaboratively.
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes, productivity, resource planning and operational performance.
  • Ensure workloads are effectively distributed and teams have the resources and direction needed to deliver.
  • Establish and maintain clear operational KPIs, reporting and performance standards.
  • Embed consistent processes and procedures, ensuring improvements are adopted across the business.
  • Work closely with Sales, Projects and senior leadership to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Support the planning and operational delivery of specialist technical projects.
  • Play a key role in developing the operational infrastructure required to support ambitious business growth.

About You

We're looking for a confident, commercially aware operational leader who enjoys being close to the business, developing people and making improvements happen.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Proven experience managing multi‑functional operational teams within engineering, technical services, equipment hire, manufacturing or a similar environment.
  • Experience leading through departmental managers or supervisors.
  • A demonstrable track record of improving operational performance, implementing processes and driving accountability.
  • Strong organisational, planning and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience managing resources, workloads, KPIs and operational priorities.
  • The ability to influence, motivate and bring people along through change.
  • A practical, hands‑on leadership style combined with a commercial mindset.

Experience within industrial services, oil and gas or safety‑critical environments would be advantageous, but specific sector experience is not essential. The priority is finding an outstanding operational leader with the right attitude, experience and ability to drive positive change.

What's on Offer?

  • Salary up to £60,000, depending on experience.
  • Quarterly bonus scheme.
  • Opportunity to join an established and financially successful business with ambitious growth plans.
  • Genuine autonomy and the opportunity to influence how the operation develops.
  • An experienced team and supportive senior leadership.
  • Long‑term career development within an expanding organisation.
  • Company pension and additional employee benefits.
