Sector & Segment is a boutique research and strategy consulting firm focused on the healthcare and life sciences industries. We are recruiting candidates to join our internship programme for 6 months. Interested applicants should send a CV and cover letter to careers@sectorandsegment.com. Please note that you must send us a CV and cover letter to be considered. If you speak additional languages, please also specify this in your email to us.
During your internship, you will play a key role in both our ongoing client projects and expert research work. You will support the consulting team by leading research efforts in a specific market or therapeutic area. This includes conducting primary research—such as recruiting and interviewing healthcare professionals or patients—and producing clear, analytical summaries of the findings, or secondary research to support client work or internal initiatives. You will also contribute to team brainstorming sessions and to the production of client reports or other deliverables, as necessary.
Simultaneously you will be building expertise in one of our focus areas and contributing to our ongoing programme of publications and syndicated reports. You will be asked to research, analyse and map out a niche area of interest, become a sector expert, and to contribute to our market insights and analysis.
Given that our clients operate at the intersection of medical science and business, we look for candidates who combine scientific literacy (e.g. in medicine or life sciences) with commercial awareness or experience. Our projects are often international hence fluency in an additional language to English can be an advantage.
We’re looking for someone with a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage their own workload effectively and independently. Intellectual curiosity—especially a desire to build expertise in our specialist areas—is highly valued. You should be comfortable engaging with a wide range of people and contributing ideas in a collaborative environment.
The internship is a 6-month largely remote role, with access to hot-desking space in Holborn, London. Depending on projects, you may be asked to meet your team in the hot-desking space 1 day per week. Outstanding interns who demonstrate strong performance and a clear interest in our work may be considered for a permanent position at the end of the internship. While this is not guaranteed, we actively review opportunities based on individual merit and business needs. Several of our consultants joined the team through this programme.
We are an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
