SOLAR PANEL PV INSTALLER
NORTH WEST UK – CLIENT BASED IN WILMSLOW
SALARY £48K – £50K+ COMPANY VAN/TOOLS
Are you an experienced Solar PV Installer with electrical certifications looking to join a quality-driven, engineer-led team? We’re seeking a skilled professional to take ownership of the physical installation process for domestic and small commercial solar PV systems. This is a hands-on role where precision, safety, and pride in your work are key.
Where possible, you will be provided with an electric company van, which you will be able to charge at home on an off-peak rate, which will be covered by the company through their expenses scheme, the cost to supply/install the necessary EV charger at your home will also be covered by the company.
The Role
As a Solar PV Panel Installer, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end installation of rooftop solar systems. From interpreting digital job documentation to managing site safety and completing high-quality installations, including the necessary electrical work, your work will directly contribute to the delivery of reliable low-carbon energy for customers across the North West.
What You’ll Do
- Interpret system designs, videos, and prep notes using SimPro (or similar software)
- Perform daily vehicle and equipment checks
- Assess scaffolding safety and suitability before beginning work
- Measure and mark out mounting layouts on roofs to match system designs
- Install and align mounting systems (pitched and flat roof, ballast where required)
- Coordinate and lead labourers on-site, ensuring safety and productivity
- Plan and install cable runs for both DC and AC connections
- Mount, wire, and quality-check solar panels and optimisers (e.g., Tigo)
- Maintain roof integrity, including ridge tile removal/reinstatement and flashing installation
- Complete post-installation reports and maintain accurate documentation
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Strong understanding of roof work and solar mounting systems
- Familiarity with health and safety practices (including working at height)
- Confident using tools for measuring, fixing, and wiring
- Ability to read schematics and installation guides
- Comfortable using digital job management tools
- Full UK Driving Licence
- 5+ years Solar Panel Installation Experience
- PV Qualified
- Electrical Certifications
Desirable:
- Tigo, GivEnergy, or GSE in-roof system experience
- Experience with ballast mounting systems
- CSCS, PASMA, or Working at Height certifications
