We’re a pre-launch EdTech startup, founded by a small team of young UK-based founders, building an inclusive learning platform for GCSE & A-Level students - designed for focus, accessibility, and genuine understanding rather than shortcuts. We’re early, but not untested. The direction has been shaped through a selective, EdTech-focused accelerator environment and competitive venture assessment, and we’re now in a build phase where execution matters more than decks.

We’re looking for a UK-based full-stack engineer to contribute on a volunteer, project-based basis and help shape the technical foundations of the product. You may work on things like:

  • Core learning and revision flows focused on guided problem-solving and exam preparation
  • Flashcards and spaced repetition systems
  • Student accounts, progress tracking, and content tools
  • Backend APIs and data models designed to scale cleanly
  • Performance, accessibility, and quality-of-life improvements across the app

Work will always be scoped clearly and agreed in advance.

How we work:

  • Project-based milestones with clearly defined scope
  • Weekly check-ins alongside async updates
  • Minimal meetings, high trust, fast iteration
  • A small initial deliverable (1–2 weeks) to confirm fit on both sides

What we’re looking for:

  • Comfortable working across frontend and backend (any modern stack)
  • Able to scope work into shippable pieces and communicate trade-offs
  • Production-minded code: readable, maintainable, secure by default
  • UK-based (required)
  • Familiarity with GCSE/A-Levels or the UK education system is helpful but not required

Location:

  • Remote (UK only)
  • Optional hybrid collaboration for candidates near Leeds / Bristol / Bath

This is a volunteer / unpaid, early-stage role.
