AI Security Architect with MI6 (Secret Intelligence Service). You will shape how AI systems are designed, deployed and governed in secure, resilient environments, influencing the direction of AI security across the organisation.
Flexible Working
We support full‑time, part‑time, compressed hours, job share and other flexible working patterns. Due to the sensitive nature of the role, remote, hybrid or home working is not possible.
Responsibilities
- Define secure AI reference architectures, patterns and controls.
- Guide delivery teams on how to implement secure AI solutions.
- Assess security implications of machine learning and large language models, including model integrity, provenance, poisoning and misuse.
- Review technical designs with software engineers, data scientists and ML engineers, providing practical, actionable feedback.
- Support assurance and accreditation colleagues to ensure security controls meet broader objectives.
- Engage with senior leaders to explain risks, trade‑offs and the value of proactive AI security investment.
Qualifications
- Experienced cyber or information security practitioner with a strong background in designing and assuring secure systems.
- Experience in security architecture or senior security engineering roles, taking responsibility for technical security decisions.
- Hands‑on experience with AI‑enabled technologies (machine learning, large language models, cloud AI services).
- Familiarity with AWS environments and relevant security controls.
- Strong judgement, critical thinking and the ability to develop defensible security decisions in evolving contexts.
- Excellent communication skills to provide technical guidance and explain risk to non‑specialist stakeholders.
- Proactive, curious and motivated to stay ahead of emerging AI security challenges.

- £74,624 initial salary plus a Recruitment and Retention Allowance of £6,251.
- 25 days annual leave rising to 30 days after five years of service, plus an additional 10.5 days public and privilege holidays.
