The Junior Group Accountant is a key member of the Finance team at Secret Escapes. In this broad and varied role, you will be an essential support to the wider business by contributing to the Group accounting processes, including statutory compliance, and being an integral part of ensuring strong financial foundations are maintained.

The role & things you’ll be working on:

  • Supporting the Group statutory audit, including contributing to the Group consolidation process
  • Supporting the year end accounts and audits of the Group subsidiaries
  • Owning Group central processes for intercompany recharges and reconciliations, lease accounting and fixed assets
  • Supporting the month end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations and monthly management accounts
  • Preparing the information for the subsidiary VAT returns
  • Owning the accurate and timely completion of Office for National Statistics (ONS) returns, ensuring that Secret Escapes remains compliant with external requirements.
  • Ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required

You will bring:

  • Strong academic record and technical experience of IFRS
  • Confident with Statutory accounts preparation and audits
  • Experience with foreign entities and multicurrency consolidations
  • Experience managing intercompany transactions and the reconciliation of intercompany balances
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with colleagues at all levels of management as well as external accounting firms
  • Excellent user of Microsoft Excel

  • A technically confident team player with excellent communication skills
  • A self‑starter who can deliver high quality outputs independently
  • Pragmatic and commercially aware, with excellent attention to detail
