This is a role for a commercially minded strategist who wants to take full ownership of a specific Point of Sale (POSa). It is the ideal position for someone who understands the nuances of the specific market—what destinations our members love, what price points they convert at, and when they travel. You will be the commercial owner of your region’s "shop window."
About Secret Escapes: Secret Escapes is one of the world’s leading members-only, online travel deals companies, offering inspiring travel experiences and hand-picked offers to over 60 million members worldwide. Operating in 10 countries across Europe, Secret Escapes continues to grow and establish itself as a world-class business, dedicated to giving our members the best range and value in luxury travel deals at low prices. Secret Escapes operates a hybrid working policy and we are all in the office 3 days a week. This role will be based in our Travelist office in Poland. We offer flexible working with core hours between 10 am to 4 pm, and you have the freedom to schedule the remaining hours to suit your routine. In keeping with being an inspirational travel brand, we also have a ‘Work from Anywhere’ policy, so you can work from anywhere in the world for up to 4 weeks each year! This benefit is designed both to feed our travel passion and support parents and carers, especially during school holidays.
The Role & What You'll Do: You are the "editor-in-chief" of the [UK/DACH/ROW] site, ensuring our members see the most relevant and exciting travel deals at the perfect moment.
- Merchandising Your POSa: You will curate the homepage, develop collection tiles, and ensure the visual hierarchy drives conversion for the [UK/DACH/ROW].
- Email Selection: You will decide exactly which deals are pushed to your members in the daily and weekly newsletters, balancing high-margin winners with volume drivers.
- Destination Strategy: Analysing data to determine which destinations are trending and ensuring our portfolio reflects where our members want to go.
- Supply Feedback Loop: Acting as the primary feeder of intelligence to the contracting teams; you’ll identify gaps in supply—whether it's "Staycations" or "Greek Islands"—and champion the need for those deals.
- Performance Analysis: Obsessively monitoring KPIs including click-through rates, conversion, and revenue per member, adjusting your strategy in real-time based on data insights.
The Team: The Trading team's mission is to bring performance to the forefront for all departments. We work to optimise portfolios and campaigns to drive revenue and squeeze every penny through meticulous planning and coordination. We are a team that thrives on commercial impact and clarity.
How the magic happens: You will operate as the commercial captain for your territory. While the deals are sourced globally, you filter and polish them locally. You won’t just be accepting what is given to you; you will actively shape the portfolio by telling the business what your members need. You will work closely with Marketing to align campaigns with inventory, and with Supply to fill gaps. You ensure that your specific POS isn't just a clone of another market, but a tailored experience.
You Will Bring:
- Local Market Expertise: Deep knowledge of consumer travel habits and preferences within the specific market(s).
- Merchandising Experience: A proven background in e-commerce trading, content curation, or digital retail.
- Data Fluency: Comfort with dashboards and a natural ability to understand why a specific deal resonated (or didn't) with your audience.
- Strong Communication: The ability to clearly articulate market needs to internal stakeholders across different regions.
- Decisiveness: The ability to make quick, commercially sound calls on site placement and newsletter content.
And You Are...
- A Regional Champion: You fight for the needs of your specific customer base to ensure they get the best experience.
- Commercially Savvy: You understand the vital balance between brand perception and driving hard revenue.
- Detail Oriented: You have a keen eye for relevance (and hate seeing "winter sun" pushed when "snow breaks" are what the market wants).
- Proactive: You don't wait for the right supply to appear; you are the one asking for it.
