About the role: As a core member of our product development team, you will work hand-in-hand with UX designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to develop production-ready web applications, which include sophisticated data visualisation. As a skilled React developer with a proven record of delivering robust and secure front ends, you will be part of a cross-functional, agile team, which is shaping the future of our flagship user interfaces.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Delivering web applications that are secure, scalable, fault-tolerant, performant, intuitive, and visually engaging.
  • Transforming complex datasets into compelling visual stories.
  • Ensuring a foundation of reliability through automated tests, both unit and end-to-end.
  • Embracing ownership from conceptual design through deployment and beyond.
  • Contributing to raising our collective frontend standards through a pragmatic, principles-driven approach to technology.
  • Collaborating with teammates, sharing knowledge, and improving how we build and maintain our frontend systems.
  • Advocating for tools and frameworks based on their proven ability to solve our specific challenges.
  • Championing a product-minded approach that goes beyond task completion to ensure our product development is finely tuned to our customers' needs.

What skills, experience, and qualifications do you need to succeed in this role?

  • Experience with the React framework and proficiency in TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like GitHub.
  • Ability to translate Figma-based design prototypes, with openness to closer, more iterative collaboration with designers.
  • Familiarity with CSS-in-JS libraries such as Styled Components.
  • Advocacy and implementation of industry best practices in frontend engineering including automated testing, using frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library.
