About the role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Solutions Manager to support and expand our automotive, off-highway, and engine customer base across the European market, including the UK. This customer-facing technical role is responsible for helping customers evaluate, adopt, and realize value from Secondmind's AI-driven Design Space Exploration and Calibration solutions. Working closely with Account Executives, ML Engineers, and Product teams, you will deliver compelling demonstrations of the Secondmind SaaS AI platform, lead technical evaluations, provide customer training and frontline technical support, and lead proof-of-concept (PoC) projects for both existing and prospective customers. Leveraging your experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, off-highway, or powertrain engineering, you will help customers understand how Secondmind's AI technology accelerates engineering workflows, improves calibration, and enables more efficient design space exploration.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing company operating in a dynamic startup environment, where your technical expertise, customer engagement, and problem-solving skills will play a key role in driving customer adoption, technical success, and long-term business growth.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Take ownership of and lead pre-sales and frontline customer support engagements, including discovery workshops, solution mapping, and tailored product demonstrations.
  • Engage with customers to identify opportunities to apply Secondmind's AI platform across the automotive engineering V-cycle, including automotive, commercial vehicle, off-highway, and powertrain development.
  • Lead technical evaluations, proof-of-concept (PoC), and pilot projects by defining success criteria.
  • Partner with sales leadership to develop and deliver compelling technical presentations, proposals, demonstrations, and supporting collateral.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers throughout onboarding, deployment, and adoption, ensuring long-term customer success.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and ML Engineering teams to provide customer feedback and influence product features, capabilities, and roadmap priorities.
  • Represent Secondmind at customer meetings, industry conferences, technical workshops, and other events across Europe.

What skills, experience, and qualifications do you need to succeed in this role?

Essential

  • Proven experience in a technical role for automotive, powertrain or off-highway applications.
  • Experience or understanding of engine calibration and toolchains used as part of calibration.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML methods and their application to engineering, calibration optimization, or design exploration.
  • Experience in engineering for vehicle, and engine development. And understanding of calibration and use of CAE tools in this space.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline (Master’s preferred).

What would make you thrive as a Senior Technical Solutions Manager?

You'll thrive in this role if you're someone who combines deep technical credibility with genuine enjoyment of customer-facing work - comfortable leading workshops, running demos, and translating complex AI and calibration concepts for both engineers and executives. You're naturally curious about customer problems, energized by proving value through hands-on PoCs and pilots rather than just pitching, and equally at ease collaborating internally with ML and Product teams as you are representing the company externally at conferences and customer sites. You bring a consultative, trusted-advisor mindset, thrive amid the ambiguity and pace of a growing startup, and take genuine satisfaction in seeing a customer succeed as a result of your technical guidance.

Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.
