About the role: As a Product Manager at Secondmind, you will be at the intersection of customer needs and technology, working as a part of the Product Management team to drive the development of state-of-the-art machine learning solutions that bring improvement and innovation to the user's workflow. Your role involves developing the product strategy and distilling it into a product backlog, guiding cross-functional teams, and translating complex technical capabilities into real-world applications that enhance system design and calibration. You will seek customer feedback and leverage market insights to shape our product offerings, ensuring they meet industry demands while maintaining our competitive edge.
What will you be responsible for?
- Product Strategy Development: Develop and continuously shape product strategy based on customer needs, market opportunities, and business goals.
- Product Strategy Communication: Champion a product-led culture, advocate for and share the product vision and strategy across the organization and with external stakeholders, building conviction and alignment around where the product is headed and why.
- Product Requirements Discovery and Prioritization: Engage with stakeholders and closely collaborate with our UX team to discover and gather product requirements, make them clear to Secondmind technical teams, and define their priorities based on business need.
- Roadmap Development and Product Backlog Ownership: Develop and maintain the product roadmap. Build, manage, prioritise and deliver the backlog items.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Engineering, AI Science, UX, Business Development, and Operations to ensure cohesive product development and delivery.
- Peer Collaboration: Work alongside people in our Product team (Product Manager and UX team) to align priorities across product lines, share context and best practice, and maintain a cohesive, consistent overall product strategy.
- Market Analysis: In collaboration with marketing, business development and external consultants; conduct market research to identify trends, user needs, and competitive landscape to inform product decisions.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and track key product metrics to assess performance and drive continuous improvement, informing future enhancements.
What skills, experience, and qualifications do you need to succeed in this role?
- Essential:
- Proven experience as a Product Manager/Product Owner, ideally in a technical or B2B software environment.
- Strong customer focus β skilled at gathering, prioritizing, and translating user needs into product requirements.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and tools (e.g. JIRA), managing product roadmaps and backlogs.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to align cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, and marketing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable making decisions with incomplete or ambiguous information.
- Experience conducting market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy.
- Comfortable sharing ownership of a wider product portfolio with another Product Manager, keeping priorities and roadmaps aligned across product lines.
