About the ServiceAs part of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership in Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW), Second Step delivers community mental health support in collaboration with Alabar, Missing Link and Nilaari. Together, were transforming mental health services by focusing on trauma-informed, person-centred, and culturally inclusive approaches.The BSW Recovery College Tutor aims to deliver a range of health, wellbeing, and recovery courses within the Second Step Recovery College and assist management to develop and implement the wider organization education strategy.

Main duties of the job

About YouAs a Tutor, youll work closely with the team in the Recovery College to deliver a list of specified courses to time and standard across BANES, Swindon, and Wiltshire. Youll support people in these sessions to learn about the specific topic and help to apply this to their own lives. Youll collaborate with health professionals, VCSE partners, and other support networks to provide seamless experience.

Job responsibilities

  • To deliver a range of Health, Wellbeing and Recovery courses within the Recovery College, across a number of geographical areas, as directed by management. Travel across the BSW area will be required for this role
  • To work within organisational policy and procedure
  • To deliver safe and accessible courses to people with engaging with the College
  • To assist with development and review of courses as directed by management
  • To assist where appropriate, with College marketing activities
  • To operationally supervise a small number of volunteers engaged in Recovery College work
  • Assist management to develop and implement the wider organisational Education strategy
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role as required by management

Person Specification

Experience

  • Proven experience of training delivery
  • Proven experience of delivering user involvement strategies
  • Proven experience of working with complex clients
  • Proven experience working in a community setting (for example supported housing, community mental health team, day centre)
  • Proven ability to work successfully and participatively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to communicate successfully with a wide range of people.
  • Lived experience of mental health issues as a service user/or as a carer, and ability to use experience positively.
