Are you a values-driven, innovative psychologist, passionate about improving the lived experience of people using services and staff, aspiring to promote positive system change? If so, taking your next career step at Second Step could be the right move for you. Second Step is a leading mental health charity in the South‑West offering housing, support and hope to thousands of people with mental health and other needs. We promote wellbeing by supporting people and communities to build brighter futures. We value relationships and making sense of what has happened to those accessing our services, rather than labelling what is wrong with them.

From 1st April 2025 Second Step will be joining with Alabaré, Missing Link and Nilaari to deliver community mental health services as part of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership across Bath and North‑East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW). Our vision is to have a strong and inclusive VCSE partnership, ambitious to deliver psychologically informed, quality mental health support at the right time and in the right place to people across BSW to support more sustainable recovery pathways.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the design and implementation of psychological, adversity and trauma (PAT) informed staff support and development programmes across multiple services. Your expertise will shape a culture of learning and build resilience in staff across the NHS Mental Health, social care and voluntary sector to enhance the quality of the service delivery model with clients.
