Second Step is a leading mental health charity in the Southwest offering housing, support and hope to people with mental health and other needs. We promote mental health and wellbeing by supporting people and communities to build brighter futures.

We are recruiting a 0.6FTE 22.2 hours per week Recovery Coach to join our FS BANES Team to support in providing low level tier 2 support for people across Bath and North East Somerset. FS BANES aims to provide people with flexible, tailored support. The service will also link in with other agencies to overcome barriers which can prevent people from achieving their goals.

Your role will be to support people with issues including housing and mental health, towards recovery and a brighter future.

No one day will be the same! Your role will be working with service users in the Floating Support Service across Bath and Northeast Somerset.

We are looking to add to our innovative team of talented individuals which will support the organisation to maintain high quality delivery of services.

About You You Will

  • Have Skills in supporting clients to maintain their accommodation/tenancy and lead their recovery journey, to maximize their choice and control and be passionate about improving the lived experience and health of people using mental health services
  • A proven knowledge and understanding of the care and support requirements of people with complex and multiple needs relating to homelessness, mental health, offending, drugs and alcohol
  • Solutions focused can do approach
  • Good standard of IT skills
  • Proven experience of outreach or floating support work, demonstrating persistence and flexibility and a range of strategies in successfully supporting clients to engage
  • Proven ability to build relationships, and to work collaboratively and successfully in a team environment across sectors and agencies
