Role Overview

We are recruiting a Peer Recovery and Wellbeing Worker to join our Peer Suicide Prevention Service in Mendip, supporting clients in the community. As a community-based role across the Mendip area of Somerset, you will travel across the county. You must have a driver’s licence and access to a vehicle. The role is advertised at 2 days a week with flexibility around working days, to be agreed with the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Offering 1‑2‑1 client support.
  • Drawing on and sharing lived experience.
  • Helping people reclaim their identity and a positive sense of self beyond mental health difficulties, and to overcome stigma.
  • Contributing to the co‑production of individual care and recovery plans.
  • Helping people develop personal empowerment, regain control over their life, focus on strengths and take personal responsibility for their recovery.
