After successful recommissioning, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Psychologist (Equivalent to 8a afc NHS) to join the team, overseeing the implementation of the organisational Psychological, Adversity and Trauma-informed (PAT) strategy within Step Together, and across the Somerset Housing & Homelessness system.
Job responsibilities
- Staff support and development using the PAT approach
- Provide reflective and learning contexts that support staff wellbeing and enhance quality practice, including group supervision, team formulation, reflective practice and incident debrief
- Build staff capacity through training and resources to embed the PAT informed approach across Step Together and the Somerset Housing & Homelessness system
- Offer therapeutic understanding and interventions to a small caseload of clients under supervision and direction of the Head of Psychology
- Support service development by providing a psychological perspective to enable PAT informed system change
- Oversee the development of the psychological interventions/therapy pathway and oversee student psychologists on placement from local universities
- Act as a member of the Second Step psychology team and integrate within our network of psychological practitioners across Second Step services in the South West region
Person Specification
Experience
- Experience of working with people with severe and multiple disadvantage, including a range of adult mental health problems, substance misuse, forensic histories, and homelessness
- Experience of formulating different ways of adapting and surviving using trauma informed and attachment frameworks
- Experience of evaluation and audit
- Experience of developing and delivering training to various audiences
- Experience and interest in group facilitation and offering support
- Experience of influencing the networks of support around individuals and creating system change
- Experience of working in NHS secondary care mental health services and in non-NHS settings
- Experience of relational approaches to therapy e.g. psychodynamic models
- Experience of creating and delivering psychological and trauma informed training to different audiences
