We’re looking for an ambitious, HCPC-registered dietitian or an AfN-registered nutritionist to join our growing team of Health Coaches at one of the UK’s most exciting health-tech startups.
The ideal candidate is passionate about improving health and wellbeing, has strong critical thinking skills, is confident using digital tools, and is comfortable working remotely.
The Challenge
More than 1 in 4 adults in the UK are living with obesity; a chronic condition that often negatively impacts their physical and mental health, and therefore quality of life. Access to specialist weight management services for the treatment of obesity remains limited and varies geographically due to a lack of funding. Existing services face long waiting lists, resulting in treatment delays which can adversely affect patient outcomes.
Enter Second Nature…
By bringing together the latest behavioural science, psychology, technology, and the talents of our incredible team, our mission is to eradicate obesity and type 2 diabetes for all, and as part of that mission, we are aiming to increase access to effective treatment for people living with obesity.
Second Nature provides specialist weight management services to support people living with obesity. We are looking for an experienced dietitian or nutritionist to join our health coaching and multi-disciplinary teams (MDT). This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the growth of specialist weight management services in a fast-paced, startup environment.

The Role
We’re looking for a dynamic, compassionate, and motivated Dietitian or Nutritionist to join and help grow our Specialist Weight Management Service (SWMS) health coaching team.
In this innovative, multidisciplinary service, you’ll work alongside doctors, psychologists, dietitians, and physical activity specialists, all with a shared passion for transforming obesity care. Using a combination of clinical expertise and cutting-edge digital tools, our MDT delivers patient-centred, evidence-based obesity treatment that maximises engagement and delivers meaningful outcomes.
As part of the team, you will provide nutritional and lifestyle interventions to support people living with obesity in making sustainable, long-term behaviour changes. Coaching is delivered digitally, through a combination of written and video communication, enabling you to connect regularly with patients and guide them through every stage of their journey.
Our health coaches support patients across five key pillars:
- Nutrition
- Exercise
- Sleep
- Stress
- Mindset
You’ll work both autonomously and collaboratively, with comprehensive training and regular supervision from our Tier 3 specialist team. This is a full-time role with flexible hours, including some evening work to meet service needs.
What you\’ll do:
- Conduct independent clinical assessments to match patients to the most appropriate treatment pathways
- Deliver remote one-to-one and group interventions to help patients change eating habits and lifestyle behaviours
- Work closely with the MDT, attending regular meetings to review, monitor and optimise patient care
- Participate in clinical supervision with a Practitioner Psychologist to discuss complex or high-risk cases
- Identify and appropriately manage clinical risk, including safeguarding concerns
- Maintain CPD, clinical supervision, and registration requirements (HCPC/AfN) in line with best practice standards
- Ensure all patient data is handled with strict confidentiality, following Data Protection Act requirements
We’re looking for someone passionate about health and wellbeing, excited by the potential for technology to transform lives, and who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. You should be highly organised, proactive, and comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get stuff done.
You’ll also need to have:
- Qualified Dietitian or Nutritionist with experience in weight management, bariatrics, mental health, eating disorders, or Tier 3 specialist services.
- Deep understanding of obesity as a complex, chronic condition, including the psychological, social, and medical challenges faced by people living with obesity, particularly the impact of weight stigma.
- Demonstrated experience delivering weight management support, using evidence-based approaches to empower sustainable lifestyle and behaviour change
- Skilled in providing empathetic, person-centred care to individuals with both physical and mental health complexities
- Confidence in managing your caseload and delivering one-to-one or group nutritional interventions remotely (e.g., via video consultations)
- Emotional resilience and the ability to thrive in challenging situations
- Comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a doctor-led multidisciplinary team (MDT), actively contributing to collaborative patient care
- Experience supporting the full patient journey, including assessments, appointment scheduling, attendance monitoring, follow-ups, and GP correspondence
- Competent in using digital tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or similar systems to track and monitor patient progress and service metrics
- Familiarity with developing, following, and improving service protocols
- Energised by working in a fast-paced, healthcare tech environment, where flexibility, adaptability, and a hands-on approach are key
- Confident using technology to deliver high-quality patient care, including maintaining accurate records and engaging with digital health platforms
- Motivated by the opportunity to improve access to healthcare through innovation and digital solutions
Nice to have:
