Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children\’s Residential Practitioner to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing support and care for children in a residential setting, ensuring their well-being and development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in childcare and demonstrate excellent communication skills, along with the ability to implement care plans effectively.

There is an additional pay of £2 per hour for weekend hours and bank holidays are paid at an additional rate.

Duties

  • Provide day-to-day support and supervision for children in a residential environment.
  • To work on a rota basis 365 days a year, (inc. weekends/Bank Holiday/Christmas/New year) The rota is to meet the needs of the home. This consists of 12.5 and 16 hour day shifts with sleep-in duties. Sleep-ins are paid at an additional £65 per night.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each child\’s needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, promoting their emotional and social development.
  • Engage children in activities that encourage learning and personal growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of children\’s progress and behaviour, ensuring effective communication with the care team.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for the children.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care at all times.
  • Assist with transportation needs, including driving children to appointments or activities as required.

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children in a residential or childcare setting is preferable.
  • A valid driving licence to facilitate transportation duties.
  • Familiarity with creating and implementing care plans is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in IT is required for maintaining records and documentation related to children\’s care. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.21-£13.25 per hour
