*Overview*
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mot Tester Class 4 & 7 to join our dynamic automotive service team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and testing of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and emissions standards. Your expertise will help maintain our reputation for quality and safety, providing customers with confidence in their vehicles. *Duties*
* Perform comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicle types, ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards for Class 4 (cars) and Class 7 (vans) vehicles.
* Conduct detailed inspections covering brakes, lights, suspension, exhaust emissions, tires, and other critical components.
* Use hand tools and power tools to carry out repairs or adjustments identified during testing procedures.
* Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairs performed, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Assist customers by explaining test results clearly and recommending necessary repairs or maintenance actions.
* Ensure the testing bay is kept clean, organized, and safe at all times by adhering to health and safety protocols.
* Assist in training junior team members or apprentices when required to promote a knowledgeable and efficient team environment.
*Requirements*
* Proven experience as a MOT Tester with valid Class 4 & 7 certification or equivalent qualification.
* Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, including brakes, steering, suspension, and emissions control.
* Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during inspections and minor repairs.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
* Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy during testing procedures.
* Good communication skills to clearly explain findings to customers and team members.
* A proactive attitude with the ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
