About us
Seccl is the Octopus-owned embedded investment platform, on a mission to help more people invest, and invest well. We're building the infrastructure behind the next generation of investing. Our technology already powers some of the UK's most ambitious fintechs, banks, financial advisers and wealth firms, with close to a million investors relying on Seccl-powered platforms. And we're now expanding into Europe. We've got a proven product, strong momentum and big ambitions for what comes next: helping more household-name brands launch and scale investment propositions, entering new markets and replacing outdated investment infrastructure with technology that's faster, simpler and built for scale. We're proud to be part of Octopus, one of the UK's most successful privately held investment and technology groups. That gives us the backing and long-term perspective to build something substantial, while keeping the pace and energy of a high-growth business. Seccl and Octopus are both B Corp certified and share a belief that profit and purpose should go hand in hand. If you want to help shape the future of investing in the UK and across Europe, you'll be in good company. The role
We're looking for a talent partner to join our People team, reporting to our talent lead. We have an ambitious hiring plan and need an experienced recruiter who can help us bring great people into Seccl at pace. This is a hands-on delivery role. You'll primarily support our Product and Engineering teams, owning roles from intake and sourcing through to interview, offer and close. Product and Engineering will be your core focus, but you'll also pick up hiring across other teams as our priorities change. You'll build trusted relationships with hiring managers and bring clear advice, market insight and constructive challenge. You'll help teams make strong decisions and keep hiring moving, while recognising that hiring managers remain accountable for the final call. Things move quickly here and plans change. You'll need to be comfortable working with ambiguity, adapting your approach and switching focus without losing momentum. You'll care about a high hiring bar and a brilliant candidate experience, while staying pragmatic about how we get there.
What you'll own
- Delivering end-to-end hiring across a portfolio of roles, primarily within Product and Engineering, while flexing across Seccl when priorities change to support with non-Technical roles.
- Building strong candidate pipelines through direct sourcing, agency management, creative search approaches and thoughtful engagement.
- Creating pace across every hiring process, spotting blockers early and keeping candidates and hiring teams moving.
- Partnering with hiring managers and leaders to clarify what they need, share market insight and support strong, evidence-based decisions.
- Maintaining a high hiring bar and an inclusive, engaging experience without adding unnecessary process or complexity.
- Using hiring data and day-to-day insight to improve delivery, sharing practical ideas with the talent lead and wider People team.
This role's for you if...
- You have strong experience owning and delivering end-to-end recruitment across multiple live roles in a fast moving, scaling business.
- You bring genuine expertise in Product and Engineering hiring, with the technical understanding and market knowledge to work credibly with hiring teams.
- You're a confident direct sourcer who knows how to find, engage and build relationships with strong candidates.
- You're highly delivery-focused, organised and proactive, and you naturally create momentum without needing lots of direction.
- You're comfortable with ambiguity and incomplete information, and can change direction quickly when business priorities shift.
- You can challenge constructively, stay pragmatic and judge when to advise, when to push and when to help a hiring manager move forward.
- You're happy to recruit outside your core specialism when needed. Experience in a fast-paced or scale-up environment would be valuable.
This role isn't for you if...
- You're looking for a mainly strategic or project-based role. Most of your time will be spent actively delivering hiring and owning live roles.
- You need priorities and processes to stay fixed. Our needs can change quickly, so you'll need to adapt and make sensible calls without perfect information.
- You prefer to stay within one recruitment specialism. Product and Engineering will be your focus, but you'll pick up roles across Seccl when needed.
- You see partnership as owning the final hiring decision. We want you to bring expertise and challenge, while enabling hiring managers to make the call and keep things moving.
- You rely mainly on inbound applications or agencies. Direct sourcing.
