About us
Seccl is the Octopus-owned embedded investment platform that’s on a mission to help more people to invest – and invest well. We’re B-Corp certified with an amazing product-market fit, impressive early traction and the potential to transform an outdated industry, for the better. We've been growing fast and will scale even faster over the next few years. We’re also proud to be part of Octopus, the £multi billion group that's on a mission to breathe new life into broken industries, through companies like Octopus Energy, Octopus Investments and Octopus Money.
The role
We’re looking for a Resilience & continuity manager to join our Operational Resilience team. You’ll be responsible for the ongoing development, implementation and maintenance of Seccl’s business continuity capability as part of our wider operational resilience framework. Your work will help us safeguard stakeholders, maintain critical operations and recover quickly from operational disruption. This is a hands-on role for someone who can combine subject matter expertise with practical delivery. You’ll lead our business continuity management capability, support wider operational resilience activity and help ensure we continue to meet relevant regulatory requirements, including FCA Operational Resilience and EU DORA obligations.
Working closely with teams across the business, you’ll help embed resilience thinking into day-to-day decision making and business operations. You’ll support testing, exercising, governance reporting, third-party resilience assessment and continuous improvement - making sure our plans, evidence and processes remain current, proportionate and effective.
On a typical day you will be…
- Maintaining and improving Seccl’s business continuity management system, ensuring it remains current, effective and well documented
- Facilitating business impact assessments and business continuity risk assessments across the business
- Working with stakeholders to develop, review and maintain practical business continuity plans
- Supporting operational resilience activity, including documentation, evidence and records for regulatory compliance
- Designing, coordinating and facilitating business continuity, operational resilience and crisis management exercises
- Assessing testing outcomes, identifying lessons learned and tracking remediation actions through to completion
- Producing high-quality reporting for senior management, governance forums and Board-level audiences
- Using insight, trend analysis and management information to support risk-based decision making
- Supporting third-party continuity and resilience assessments
- Identifying opportunities to improve resilience processes through tooling, automation and data-driven reporting
This role’s for you if...
- You have significant experience in operational resilience, business continuity management or a related risk discipline within financial services
- You have a strong understanding of FCA Operational Resilience requirements and EU DORA obligations
- You’re experienced in designing, facilitating and evaluating scenario exercises and resilience testing programmes
- You can produce clear, insightful governance reporting and present findings confidently to senior stakeholders
- You’re comfortable maintaining policies, standards, procedures and evidence for regulatory, audit and assurance purposes
- You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, bringing people with you while challenging constructively where needed
- You have a strong risk mindset and can balance regulatory expectations with practical, commercial and operational realities
This role isn’t for you if...
- You rely on a lot of top-down direction. Here, you’ll have a lot of freedom and ownership of your role, and you’ll be expected to shape your own progression
- You’re not comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Our speed and scalability are what set us apart; you need to be able to act quickly and think on your feet
- You struggle to follow through on ideas. We value people who do what they say they will. If you care about something, you have the freedom here to make it happen
- You don’t like change. You’ll get on great here if you relish the ambiguity of rapid growth and are willing to embrace uncertainty
What’s in it for you…
- A salary between £60,000 and £80,000 – dependant on experience + reviewed annually
- 27 days holiday + bank holidays (some can be flexible) + day off on your birthday + three days (full time) per year for Dependant leave
- Two volunteering days per year
- Option to work abroad for up to six weeks a year
- Secclbrate - our recognition programme that offers a mix of flexible rewards including extra pay, additional holiday and increased learning budget
- Length of service award – one month paid sabbatical at eight years
- 6% employer pension contribution, and life assurance
- Private medical insurance with AXA Health

- MacBook and up to £500 home office set up budget
- £750 per person learning budget
- Health and wellbeing initiatives including free therapy via Wellness Cloud, mental health support via Headspace
