About us

Seccl is the Octopus-owned embedded investment platform that’s on a mission to help more people to invest – and invest well. We’re B-Corp certified with an amazing product-market fit, impressive early traction and the potential to transform an outdated industry, for the better. We’ve been growing fast and will scale even faster over the next few years.

The role

As Head of CASS, you’ll have end-to-end responsibility for Seccl’s CASS framework, providing leadership, oversight and strategic direction across the firm’s obligations under FCA CASS regulations. This is a senior leadership role with genuine influence - working closely with the executive team, the Board, regulators and auditors, while building a high-performing CASS function that scales with the business. The CASS function sits at the core of Seccl’s regulatory operations, partnering closely with teams across reconciliations, transfers, payments, trading and wider platform activity. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our CASS framework remains robust, compliant and scalable as the business continues to grow. The Head of CASS role will hold the CASS operational oversight certification function.

On a typical day you will be…

  • Owning and leading Seccl’s CASS function, ensuring strong governance, oversight and regulatory compliance.
  • Interpreting and embedding CASS requirements across the organisation in a scalable, pragmatic way.
  • Designing and operating an effective CASS governance framework, including chairing CASS Committee.
  • Proactively managing CASS risk, leading the resolution of incidents and breaches where they arise.
  • Acting as the senior point of contact for regulators, auditors and key external stakeholders on all CASS matters.
  • Building, leading and developing a high-performing CASS team, that ensures that CASS knowledge and skills are embedded throughout the business.
  • Advising senior leadership and the Board on CASS risk, regulatory change and strategic implications.

This role’s for you if...

  • You have significant experience leading CASS within an FCA-regulated environment (fintech, platforms, custody or wealth preferred).
  • You hold the relevant qualifications outlined in the FCA’s training and competence sourcebook within appendix 4.1.
  • You have deep technical expertise in CASS, paired with the judgement to apply it pragmatically at scale.
  • You have proven experience operating at senior level, engaging confidently with regulators, auditors and Boards.
  • You are a leader who can build teams, influence outcomes and raise standards across a fast-growing organisation.
  • You enjoy a busy and ever-changing environment, where the demand for CASS expertise is central to many areas.
  • You lead and communicate effectively, providing clear updates to stakeholders.

This role isn’t for you if...

  • You rely on a lot of top-down direction.
  • You’re not comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • You struggle to follow through on ideas.
  • You don’t like change.

What’s in it for you…

  • A salary between £110,000 and £130,000 – dependant on experience + reviewed annually.
  • 27 days holiday + bank holidays (some can be flexible) + day off on your birthday + three days (full time) per year for Dependant leave.
  • Two volunteering days per year.
  • Option to work abroad for up to six weeks a year.
  • Secclbrate - our recognition programme that offers a mix of flexible rewards including extra pay, additional holiday and increased learning budget.
  • Length of service award – one month paid sabbatical at eight years.
  • 6% employer pension contribution, and life assurance.
  • Private medical insurance with AXA Health.
  • Enhanced Parental leave.
  • MacBook and up to £500 home office set up budget.
  • £750 per person learning budget.
  • Health and wellbeing initiatives including free therapy via Wellness Cloud, mental health support via Headspace.
  • Strong financial wellbeing focus including access to Octopus Money, Octopus Share Incentive Plan and will writing offering via Octopus Legacy.
  • Perkbox – Flexi-points giving you a range of discounts and perks including free weekly coffee, gym and retail discounts.
