999 Telephone Triage Nurse / Paramedic - Emergency Operations Centre

Other than in exceptional circumstances, the starting salary for staff new to the NHS will be the bottom point of the band to which they have been appointed.

This is a fully office-based role at our NHS 111/999 contact centres in Medway, Kent or Crawley, West Sussex. Due to 24/7 shift patterns, including nights, applicants must live within approximately 45-60 minutes' commuting distance. Applications outside this distance will not be progressed.

Job responsibilities and Working Hours

The role requires permanent full-time and part-time contracts (minimum 15 hours per week). The trust operates 365 days per year, 24 hours per day. There will be a requirement to work a variety of shifts including evenings, nights, weekend and bank holidays. Unsocial hours are payable in addition to the salary quoted, dependent upon working pattern. Please ensure you read the attached rota requirements before applying for this role to ensure you can meet the requirements.

Training Commitment:

8.5 weeks full time NHS Pathways 999, 1 week CAD training (all Monday-Friday). The mentoring is full time (37.5 hours per week). You will be required to attend the full 8 weeks of training, no annual leave or days off will be agreed during this time. Failure to attend will result in employment being terminated. You will need to be flexible during the mentoring period as shifts are not planned in advance. Due to licence requirements, you must pass all assessments during training. You will be offered a resit if required. If unsuccessful on the resit, employment will be terminated immediately. You will also need to be signed off as clinically safe following mentor and diamond weeks; failure to meet the required standard will result in employment being terminated.
