Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Coach Builder role based in Faversham, Kent, United Kingdom. The Coach Builder will work on custom bus and vehicle conversions, including structural fabrication, interior fit-outs, and the installation of specialist equipment and finishes. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing vehicle condition, carrying out bodywork repairs, preparing and painting surfaces, and ensuring all mechanical and cosmetic work meets safety and quality standards. The role involves manufacturing, assembling and fitting bespoke components as well as collaborating with designers, project managers, and other technicians to turn creative concepts into functional, roadworthy promotional and specialist vehicles. The Coach Builder will also contribute to maintenance and repair activities, troubleshoot issues, and help improve build processes and workmanship standards.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for commercial and specialist vehicles.
• Experience in Collision repair and Auto Body work, including structural repairs, panel replacement, and finishing.
• Proficiency in Paint preparation and application, with attention to detail and finish quality.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, build specifications, and work from concept designs.
• Competence with hand tools, power tools, welding, and fabrication techniques relevant to coach and vehicle building.
• Commitment to health and safety practices, including safe workshop operations and vehicle compliance standards.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across design, engineering, and project delivery teams.
• Prior experience in coachbuilding, vehicle conversions, or specialist automotive fabrication is highly beneficial.
• Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in automotive body repair, vehicle construction, or a related field is preferred.
