Seatriever International is looking for a Quality & Compliance Officer to join our small, fast-moving team in Cheshire. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for product quality, supplier performance and compliance across our international supply chain. We are the company behind illooms, the world’s first LED latex balloon, and Eco Air, the world’s first 100% recyclable foil-style balloon. Our products are sold in more than 40 countries and stocked by major UK retailers.

This role would suit someone with strong product quality experience who is methodical, confident making quality decisions and comfortable working with suppliers and factories internationally.

Based from our Cheshire office, you will manage day-to-day quality and compliance activity largely remotely, working with factory teams in China, UK colleagues, suppliers and third-party testing bodies. You will review inspection reports, approve or reject shipments, maintain key compliance documents and help ensure quality issues are identified and resolved effectively. The role includes one annual factory visit to China, with day-to-day supplier and inspection oversight managed from the UK.

Key responsibilities:

  • Approving or rejecting finished goods before shipment, using agreed quality standards and inspection reports
  • Overseeing product inspections and working with suppliers to resolve quality issues
  • Maintaining technical files, compliance records and product documentation
  • Supporting UK, EU and US regulatory compliance across the product range
  • Managing supplier quality performance, defect trends and corrective actions
  • Liaising with third-party test laboratories and external compliance bodies
  • Supporting sustainability, packaging and environmental compliance requirements as the business grows

About you:

  • Experience in product quality control, ideally within consumer goods, toys, packaging or another regulated product category
  • Solid understanding of AQL sampling, defect classification, NCR/CAPA processes
  • Working knowledge of UK, EU and/or US product compliance requirements
  • Confident reviewing inspection reports and making clear quality decisions
  • Comfortable managing supplier and factory relationships remotely
  • An interest in or experience with sustainability compliance and recyclability claims is a genuine advantage
  • Practical, detail-focused and able to work at pace in a small business environment
  • Happy to travel to China once a year for a factory visit

What we offer:

  • A varied role with genuine ownership and influence
  • The opportunity to work with innovative products sold internationally
  • A small, entrepreneurial team where your decisions have visible impact
  • International exposure across the UK, China, the USA and growing EU markets

Location: Cheshire, UK
Contract type: Full-time, permanent
Travel: One annual factory visit to China
Salary: To be confirmed
