Our Maintenance Assistant role
We’re looking for a Maintenance Assistant to contribute to the day-to-day maintenance and safe operation of our property, machinery, and services.
Reporting to our Maintenance Manager, you’ll ensure health and safety standards are met, complete maintenance tasks, and assist with tasks related to carpentry, painting, decorating, and joinery.
You’ll support with scheduled checks and water tests, and ensure efficient running of the machinery, services, and facilities across our site.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.
As our Maintenance Assistant you’ll be
- Welcoming our guests and team alike.
- Working under the instruction of our Maintenance Manager, maintaining the site to a high standard.
- Compliant with all Health and Safety company policies and procedures.
- Wearing the correct uniform, PPE and safety equipment (as needed).
- Undertaking any reasonable requests made by management.
- Completing any requests in the maintenance log promptly.
- Performing tasks as requested on the maintenance log.
- Bringing any relevant concerns to our Maintenance Manager’s attention.
- Ensuring that requests in the maintenance log are completed.
- Ensuring that our shed, garage and electrical stores are kept clean and organised.
- Occasionally contributing to sustainability projects.
- Attending given training provided by the company.
- Proactive in helping and demonstrating our shared responsibility to care for our team and planet.
- Demonstrating a good understanding of our sustainability policies and practices.
- Ensuring you have a solid understanding of why we are working towards a BCorp accreditation.

The skills you’ll be sharing with us
- Experience in a similar industry, preferably hospitality.
- Ability to diagnose and repair day-to-day mechanical and practical problems, making necessary repairs.
- Excellent skills in property maintenance such as redecoration, electrics, basic plumbing and tiling.
- General maintenance skills and swimming pool training.
- The ability to safely work at heights.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office software.
- Experience working within the building/maintenance industry (preferred).
- A can‑do attitude whilst remaining calm under pressure.
- A full, clean driving licence.
- Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation.
- Happy working under your own supervision as well as part of a team.
- Experience within a guest or customer service environment (desirable).
