Assist the General Merchandise-Floral Manager in the day-to-day activities in the general merchandise, wellness & health, and floral department. This role blends traditional retail tasks with a specialized focus on vitamins, supplements, natural body care, and holistic lifestyle products. You will act as a knowledgeable resource for customers seeking to improve their well-being while ensuring the department remains organized, fully stocked, and compliant with safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and verify shipments.
- Efficiently stock shelves using FIFO (First In, First Out) method to ensure product freshness and minimize shrink.
- Perform “facing” (pulling products to the front) and ensure all items are correctly tagged and priced.
- Assist in the ordering processes.
- Create floral arrangements to display and sell.
- Perform plant maintenance, including watering, trimming and rotating.
- Execute seasonal resets and build creative displays for promotional items.
- Maintain a functional understanding of wellness trends, including organic standards, dietary supplements, and natural ingredients, to assist with customer inquiries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing shopping environment.
Requirements
Education/Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); interest in holistic health or nutrition is preferred.
