We are looking for volunteers 18 yrs and over with lived experience of cancer either directly or through a family member to help set up and run a 5K Your Way programme in Stockport. The 5K Your Way Move Against Cancer programme is nationwide and encourages individuals impacted by cancer to walk, jog, run or cheer together in local parks and outdoor spaces once a month, linked to Park Run events on the last Saturday of each month. Over 100 events are running across the country and more are being created regularly.

If you are physically active, empathetic, a good communicator and listener, have great organisational skills and are motivational then this role is for you. In return for your valuable time you will learn new skills, work with volunteers and staff and have the joy of knowing you are making a difference.

About the Organisation Move Against Cancer is a charity founded in 2016 by athlete Gemma Hillier Moses, who had cancer in her 20s. The organisation supports people of all ages to stay physically active, offering a free 8‑week online exercise program for young people aged 13–30 and the nationwide 5K Your Way programme described above. Additional resources include workshops, videos, podcasts and live exercise sessions.
