Marine Sales & Business Development Executive
Great Yarmouth | £30,000-£35,000 + performance bonus | Full-time, office based
Seaserve is looking for a proactive, commercially minded salesperson to join our team in Great Yarmouth and help us grow our business across the UK marine sector.
This isn't a traditional field sales role — and it isn't a role for someone who simply waits for enquiries to arrive.
We're looking for someone who enjoys picking up the phone, finding opportunities, developing relationships and looking for ways to grow customer accounts.
What you'll be doing
You'll work with both new and existing customers to:
- Proactively identify and develop new sales opportunities
- Contact prospective customers by phone, email and LinkedIn
- Research potential customers, projects and upcoming requirements
- Develop existing accounts through cross-selling and value-added services
- Re-engage dormant and infrequent customers
- Follow up quotations and enquiries to help improve conversion
- Identify relevant tenders, projects and new business opportunities
- Build relationships with ports, harbour authorities, marine contractors and other marine organisations
- Identify opportunities for installation, maintenance, monitoring and other services
- Support the introduction of new products and identify potential customers for them
- Maintain and develop a clear sales pipeline
- Attend occasional customer meetings, site visits and industry events when there is a clear commercial benefit
This is predominantly an office-based role in Great Yarmouth. Most customer development will be undertaken by telephone, email and Teams rather than continuous travel around the UK.
Who we're looking for
You don't need to be an expert in marine navigation equipment — we’ll provide the product and industry training.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Confident and comfortable making proactive sales calls
- Naturally curious and good at uncovering opportunities
- Commercially aware and motivated by developing business
- Comfortable dealing with technical and operational customers
- Persistent without being overly aggressive
- Organised and capable of managing their own opportunities
- Comfortable using CRM systems, LinkedIn and online research
Previous experience in B2B sales, internal sales, technical sales or business development would be preferred.
Experience within the marine, offshore, engineering, electrical, industrial or another technical sector would be advantageous, but isn’t essential.
